Mission and Core Values

Members of Westminster Presbyterian Church have invested themselves, their lives and resources in the following Mission Statement:

We are people of hope "bearing witness to God's love for the world in Jesus Christ."

As Presbyterians, we honor some beliefs that are shared with other Christian churches:

…the mystery of the Trinity
…the incarnation of the eternal Word of God in Jesus Christ

We also honor the following tenets that are products of the Protestant Reformation:

…justification by grace through faith
…Scripture as the final authority for salvation and the life of faith.


Finally, we lift up these beliefs as part of our Reformed Tradition:

…the sovereignty of God
…God’s choosing (election) of people for salvation and service
…the covenant life of the church, ordering itself according to the Word of God
…faithful stewardship of God’s creation
…the sin of idolatry, which makes anything created more honored and revered than the Creator
…and the necessity of obedience to the Word of God, which directs us to work for justice in the transformation of society.
